I have been really terrible with blogging lately. I have some weddings to catch up on and we'll start with this one.
This wedding is a very special wedding to me. Marianna was the Maid of Honor and my wedding and has been a dear friend of mine since we meet on an airplane to Israel. Her and I have been talking about her wedding day for the same amount of time we've known each other. We've seen each other though boyfriends, heartache, births and tragedies and to share in her special day was a great pleasure of mine.
Funny story - Marianna asked me to be in her wedding and I of course was happy to do that. But in addition I always knew I would be doing the flowers. I bought me beautiful and flattering bridesmaid dress (it actually was super cute; I'm not just saying that) and was happy to be playing two parts in the wedding. Then, I got pregnant!! I was hoping my body would be the same at least until the wedding. Well, that did not happen. I tried on the dress a couple weeks before the wedding and I couldn't even zip it up! What a nightmare!! But what really mattered to me was that I was doing the flowers and that's what I did.
Lenny and Marianna are the most perfect couple. They wanted something that was fun and cheery as they are. And, I believe we accomplished that with the flowers. The weather on the other hand did not get the memo. I loved how the wedding turned out, so comfy and cozy with cheerful flowers and candles.
Marianna and Lenny - I wish you so much happiness in the world and I am so happy that I had the honor to be a part of your day. I love you so much. xoxoxoxo

On my consultation with Hayley she was so sweet and we bonded right away. She came to me a little distressed from a previous florist and I was so happy that I was able to help her and put her mind at ease.
Wedding day came and she looked AMAZING! Hello, could she look anymore beautiful? (as you will see below) The wedding was held at Spanish Hills and the photographer was Kiss the Bride Weddings.

Hallie and Jesse are very good friends of mine who were married on Halloween. Hallie is the one and only Hallie from Hallie, Inc. - Wedding Coordinator. Hallie and I met about 5 years ago when her and I first came into the wedding business. We became fast friends and I love her dearly! When Hallie met Jesse (she was the coordinator at Jesse's brothers wedding) I knew for sure they were going to get married. It just seemed like the perfect match. Jesse and Hallie totally get each other and they are one of a kind...per their wedding. I can not wait to share pictures of their wedding. I can share a couple pictures from Josh Hailey Photography (a guest - the blue peacock). Check back soon. This was a fun day for Jamie and I. I always love to do weddings in Santa Barbara because Jamie and I make a day of it. Typically we are done setting up by dinner time and we can take in a nice dinner on state street and then maybe a movie (depending on how tired we are).

A purple wedding! This wedding was filled with flower issues because of the volcano. Seemed like nothing went right but in the end it really turned out beautiful! This experience really showed me that no matter what issues come up I am always able to turn out a beautiful end product. Purple at NACE

I recently became a member of NACE (National Association of Catering Executives). Spanish Hills hosted a meeting on Wednesday and it was great to see vendors I already work with and know and to meet new vendors. I look forward to working with everyone in the future and enjoying upcoming meetings.
I did a couple centerpieces for the event. The theme color was purple. Sorry for the bad picture quality, they were taken from my iPhone and in a dark room. :)

I have memories of working 20 hour days on holidays like this in a delivery flower shop and its something I would like to forget. Simple, Small and White

Santa Barbara is the perfect place to have a small intimate destination wedding. Nicole and Andy were married in front of the Santa Barbara Court House...a FREE location. Then had their reception at the Fess Parker. This was a carefree couple who were just so happy to be getting married.
I want to point out the reception tables at this wedding. Since it was such a small wedding they had long tables with centerpieces throughout. Nicole decided she wanted 3 square vases varying in height with different white flowers. She choose: white roses, white hydrangea and white tulips. Super Simple but elegant!

Ranunculus galore! Gretchen's only desire was to have tons of ranunculus in her bouquets. I wasn't sure if I would be able to find a good quality ranunculus for her wedding since the flower was just coming into season but I was so lucky to find the most beautiful white ranunculus with green centers for her bouquets! Gretchen was thrilled with the bouquets and they are one of my favorite bouquets ever.

This is very exciting and a little nerve wracking. I have wanted to start a blog for some time and am now just getting the courage to do so! Hopefully there won’t be too many grammatical errors and misspellings! The goal with this blog is to showcase my work, give ideas of things I love and possible tricks of the trade.
To tell you a little about myself: My name is Allison Friedman, owner/designer of These Buds A Blooming located in Camarillo serving Ventura county. Married to my husband Jamie of almost 4 years and mommy to our wonderful and spirited 17 month old son, Sam. I have owned These Buds A Blooming for almost 4 years now and I couldn’t be happier! I love being able help design and achieve the visions for weddings and my wonderful brides. I couldn’t have better brides!
